After a fun time relaxing on the South Fork of the Flathead , it was time to head back. We crossed the river and headed back up Young's Creek the way we had come.

It was another hot day, and we stopped near Hahn Cabin to cool off and have a snack.

From Hahn Cabin the trail goes up the creek and through the Hahn meadows. There were quite a few camps along the way, not surprising as there is good grass there and it's pretty country.

The fireweed was in full bloom, and it made a wonderful contrast with the black and white landscape of burned trees.

Adin picked some fireweed as we went along and used it to decorate his hat. It was pretty spectacular! As opposed to his boots...

We stopped at Charlie Young's Cabin for a breather before lunch and a chance to enjoy a last view of the Young's Creek drainage.

We were just sitting there enjoying the view and then Zia piped up. She had just found a stick-mimic caterpillar, from about three yards away. Wow! That kid has good eyeballs. I wish I could trade...
